Ninja MC703 3-in-1 Cooking System is the newest product introduced before Christmas 2012 by the maker of Ninja juicer, blender and other small kitchen appliances.
This cooking system has 3-in-1 functionality of a stovetop, a conventional oven and a slow cooker. It can be used in 6 different cooking methods such as sear, sauté, steam roast, bake, slow cook and simmer.
A pot of spaghetti with frozen meatballs will be done in less than 30 minutes in this cooker without using one stockpot to boil the pasta and another to sauté and simmer the sauce. It saves up to 50% cooking time and there is not a pile of pots and pans to clean afterwards.
The company behind this breakthrough cooking appliance is Euro-Pro originated from Europe a century ago and migrated through Canada and now settled in Newton, Massachusetts outside of Boston. The ultimate goal of this cooker is to enable consumers to eat healthy meals without the spending hours of cooking time.

The MC703 has a liquid capacity of 6 quart about an average size of slow cookers. It is big enough to cook a 6 lbs of chicken or a 4 lbs of roast.
The cooker has several components:the external vessel, the inner cooking pot and a domed lid to cover the pot. There are also accessories to assist your cooking such as a multi-purpose pan, a roasting rack and a muffin tray.
The revolutionary aspect is in the heating system where triple fusion heat from the sides and the direct heating from the bottom are combined to efficiently utilize the heat and to save up to 50% of the cooking time as in a conventional oven.
The inner cooking pot is made of aluminum with ceramic non-stick coating. The lid is made of aluminum with non-stick coating on both sides and the rack of chrome-plated steel. The inner pot weighs 3 pounds as compared to 8 pounds in a crockery. So it’s much lighter to handle when taking the pot out of the vessel and when cleaning.
Although the inner cooking pot is dishwasher safe, it’s not recommended as the non-stick material may get scuffed up in the dishwasher. The multi-purpose pan, the muffin tray and the rack are to be hand washed.
See Other Features section for how to use.
LCD, Timer and Menu Options: The MC703 has a decent size display panel with three options as “Stovetop”, “Slow Cook” and “Oven”. The Stovetop has “low”, “medium” and “high” settings. The Slow Cook is either on “low” or “high” for up to 6 or 4 hours cook time respectively. When the cooking is done, it will switch to “auto warm” function automatically. The oven temperature is from 250 to 425 degrees Fahrenheit and can be adjusted in 25 degrees and 5 minute increment.
On the right hand side of the panel, there is a timer doubled up as oven temperature setting. Below it is a dial to adjust and set the time and temperature.
To use the “steam cooking”, sear the meat or sauté the vegetables first in the same pot and then add 1 cup of liquid (water or broth) for every 10 minutes of cooking time. Keep an eye on the liquid to add more before it’s evaporated completely. A “buffet” dial is to keep the food warm for up to 12 hours.
Cord: A 24-inch cord is provided.
Dimensions (inches for D-W-H): I couldn’t find any information on the dimensions from anywhere. I will call Ninja to see if I can get it. Will update this section when available.
Accessories: It comes with a multi-purpose pan, a silicone muffin tray, silicone mitt set, roasting lifter set and a 150 recipe cookbook. This set of accessories is sold for $49.99 on Ninja’s website.
To be on the safe side, take the one-year for now until I can confirm the information with Ninja.
Amazon carries this and a few other models such as MC701 and MC501. I am not sure if the two models are the predecessors to this MC703 because they are not listed on Ninja’s website. The ratings on the other two models are way below the standard I’d invest in the review (only 1 star rating). On Amazon, you’d get the cooker and the accessories whereas on Ninja’s website, you’d pay another $50 for the accessories (as mentioned earlier) apart from the cooker. Also one customer shared the unpleasant experience of ordering through Ninja as the Sales Rep kept pushing to sell this customer the moon, the sun and the stars.
Who should be thinking about buying this cooker? Busy people whether you are a single mom or dad or just don’t have too much time to cook after working all day. Of course, someone who wants to be healthy by eating healthy food.
