The Miracle Exclusives ME81 8-Cup Rice Cooker is a real bargain comparing to a similar product by Aroma. This rice cooker’s unique feature is that all the cooking surface of the inner cooking pot and the steaming basket is made of  grade 304 stainless steel. If you are worried about Teflon-coated cookware and what it may do to your health, this presents a great alternative.

8 Cups Capacity (Uncooked Rice)

check-today's-rice-cooker-deal

The ME81 rice cooker has 8 cups of uncooked rice capacity. For some strange reason, the product description says it yields 12 cups cooked rice. Typically it’s a 1 to 2 ratio between the uncooked and the cooked rice that would have made this 16 cups cooked rice. Test it out and let me know if you get this one.

Heating Technology – Conventional Heating

Unlike the Aroma rice cooker mentioned earlier, this rice cooker has a conventional heating element. There are two major components to this rice cooker, an external cooking vessel where the heating plate is on inside bottom and an inner cooking pot. The water in the inner pot is heated to a boiling point to generate steam. The steam is absorbed by the rice or other grains. The heat shuts off automatically when the rice is cooked. There is no computer chip or fuzzy logic in this rice cooker. The upside is that it’s very simple to use.

The glad is made of tempered glass allowing you to peek through to see how your rice is cooked. There is also a steam “hole” on top of the lid to minimize boil-over. One trick is to rinse the rice or other types of grain before cooking to get rid of the starch, which is the main cause for boil-over.

Easy to Use and Clean

As I just eluded, it’s very easy to operate a one-button electric rice cooker like this one. Prepare your ingredients, add water and plug the power chord in the socket . It’s hard to get simpler than this.

Cleaning is a cinch. Wash the inner pot, the steaming basket and the lid by hand or load them all up in the dishwasher. You may want to clean up the heating plate to make sure there is no debris to affect the conductivity.

Other Features – ME81

LCD and Timer: Forget about timer here. This is a rice cooker for “Dummies” (with a very endearing tone in my voice).

Menu Selections: Plug in and plug off. So you’ll have to play around with cooking white rice, brown rice and other grains to test the grain to water ratio until you get the right texture.

Cord: No special feature, just a regular power chord.

Color: White

Dimensions: 9.5 (D) x 8.6.7 (W) x 7 (H)

Accessories: Measuring cup, rice paddle, steaming basket

helpful-tipsHelpful Tips

  1. A couple of customers recommended spraying a bit oil on the bottom of the inner pot to prevent the rice from sticking and for easy cleanup as well.
  2. A Japanese restaurant owner shared his highly covenanted secret with me to add some cooking oil to the rice before cooking to make it extra fluffier and tastier.
  3. Another customer mentioned that she made palenta in the rice cooker.

Customer Reviews on ME-81 Rice Cooker

4.2 out of 5Out of 160 reviews on Amazon, majority gave a 4 to 5 star rating. They were relieved that this ME81 rice cooker was their answer to the uncertain harms from aluminum and Teflon coated cookware. It has been tested to cook all sorts of rice and grains and it worked out great. Cleaning is no trouble at all by soaking the pot for a while to clean by hand or by dishwasher. They would highly recommend this rice cooker.

Pros and Cons

ProsNeedless to say the biggest selling point is the stainless steel inner pot and steaming basket. It’s very simple to operate with a touch of a button. You can literally cook an entire meal with this cooker.

ConsA few customers commented about being pricy. But again, this is a subjective thing and relative to other products on the market. Another feedback is the lack of clear information in the Manual.

Price, Warranty and Where to Buy – ME81 Rice Cooker

I compared the price on Amazon vs. it on Miracle Exclusives website. Amazon is about $15 cheaper with 30+% off from the list price. Check the latest price when you are ready to shop. Pay attention to each store’s total price because some do charge a Shipping and Handling fee on top of the base price.

This rice cooker has a standard one-year limited warranty. One customer commented it was very pleasant to deal with the Customer Service.

      Justin,

Thanks for stopping by my site and I appreciate you have brought to my attention about the Miracle Exclusives website. I assume you are interested in buying a rice cooker with a stainless steel inner pot. If that’s the case, have you looked into a few models by Aroma such as Aroma ARC-753SG (3 cup uncooked), Aroma NRC-1000 (9 cup uncooked) or Aroma NRC-687 (7 cup uncooked)? I have reviewed all three models on my site under Rice Cooker Reviews. You can read them and decide from there. I am not sure if Aroma ships products to Australia, but you can find out from their website.

      Good luck!

      Lei
