aroma-arc-753sg

In all the Aroma rice cookers I’ve reviewed to date, I haven’t seen one with a perfect 5-star rating like this Aroma ARC-753SG rice cooker. The biggest selling point in this rice cooker is the 100% surgical-grade 304 stainless steel inner cooking pot.

More and more people are concerned about the potential health risk non-stick coating materials may cause. This cooker will put your concern to rest so you can focus on enjoying a pot of well-cooked rice.

3 Cup of Dry Rice Capacity

check-today's-rice-cooker-deal

6-cup in capacity size is actually a 3-cup of uncooked rice. Some people mistakenly thought it was 6-cup in capacity. In addition, the cup size is only 6 oz as opposed to 8-oz in the U.S. standard cup size. So you may get double-whammy if not paying attention.

Heating: Conventional

There is no high-tech in the heating element with this rice cooker. It’s a good old conventional rice cooker where the water is heated through the heating element on the bottom of the pot to 212 degrees Fahrenheit. The heated water in turn generates steam to cook the rice. As soon as the moisture is completed absorbed by the dry rice, the cooking cycle will stop and be switched to “keep warm” cycle.

Easy to Use and to Clean

The upside with lacking of advanced heating technology is that it’s so easy to use. There is only one lever to push when you are ready to cook after adding measured dry rice and water per the marked waterline in the inner pot. When the rice is done, the “Warm” button light will be lit to signal you. It’s advised to keep it in the pot for an additional 15 minutes after cooking to get even fluffier rice.

Cleaning is even easier since the inner pot is made of stainless steel. You can stick the inner pot and the lid in the dishwasher when you are ready for a batch of dirty dishes. Alternatively, you can hand wash them with warm soapy water. There is no grimy steam vent and condensation collector to clean with this rice cooker unlike the older models.

helpful-tipsHelpful Tips

  1. Don’t limit to just cooking rice. You can slow cook stews, chile, and one-pot meals.
  2. When cooking brown rice, add an additional 1/4 water to the water line for white rice for best result.
  3. Substitute chicken, beef or veggie broth to plain water for added flavor.

Customer Reviews

5 out of 5As I mentioned earlier, this rice cooker has received a 5-star rating by a few customers. This cooker served them well with the stainless steel inner pot and it’s definitely a great choice for singles or small families.

Pros and Cons

ProsThe inner pot is made of surgical 304 stainless steel that prevents harmful substance leaching into the cooked rice. This rice cooker is made with durable material that’s not flimsy. It’s small and compact enough for those who live in small apartments with limited kitchen space. It’s a more affordable option as compared to other stainless steel inner pot alternative.

ConsCustomer reported some browned rice on the bottom. The remedy is to add a dash of oil to the bottom of the inner pot to prevent rice from sticking. The other thing is to unplug the rice cooker from the electric socket upon cooking as the “warm” function tends to cause the crusty bottom.

Price, Warranty and Where to Buy – Aroma ARC-753SG Rice Cooker

It’s hard to beat the Aroma’s price on all rice cookers. This one is no exception. A one-year warranty is provided by Aroma. The price on Amazon is a few dollars cheaper than that on Aroma Housewares’ own website. The only downside is that it takes one to three months to ship the product. If you are not in a big hurry, then order it ahead of time. Hopefully it won’t take that long.
