Aroma markets its rice cookers in cooked rice capacity, which is opposite to the Japanese and other rice cooker manufacturers. This rice cooker is 10 cups for uncooked rice and 20 for cooked. The size is good enough for most of the household use from a small family of 3-4 to 6 to 8. One of the misconception is that you have to buy the right size for your family. In fact, I always advise people to buy a bigger one for the flexibility to cook less or more. Typically, you can cook minimum cups of rice to get the best cooked rice, that is two cups for most rice cookers. Any less than that, your rice would be likely to be brown or burnt on the bottom.
The Aroma ARC-150SB is one of the newer models. It is designed with digital programming capability and a 15-hour delayed timer. What this means to you is that the rice cooker will know how long and what temperature to use to cook different types of rice. You can set the timer in the morning to cook the rice, say one hour before you return home from work.
You can use this cooker to cook rice, steam vegetable and meat at the same time or set it for slow cooking a pot roast or a one-pot meal with your choice of meat/s and vegetables.
One of the Aroma rice cooker hallmarks is its easy-to-use feature. This is no exception. As long you follow the instructions to measure rice, rinse the rice (very important!) and add water, turn it to cook or set a delayed timer, you can walk way and come back with your rice or meal all done and ready for you.
It’s also easy to clean. Remove the inner pot from the cooker and rinse it with a bit dish soap and water.

4.0 out of 5Many people are loyal customers to the Aroma brand. They are pleased with the simplicity and affordability of the Aroma rice cookers. Having the steam tray and slow cook capabilities are the icing on the cake when it comes to saving time and energy.
ProsHaving just the essential menu settings serves a lot of people well because not too many of them want to know how to cook GABA brown rice. No need to jump hoops to cook brown rice with this rice cooker. The multi-tasking function is much appreciated by many customers.
ConsIf you don’t soak the rice first, it will boil over and make a big mess on your kitchen counter. Rice on the bottom tends to get a bit brown. My suggestion is to cook two cups minimal and don’t keep it on “Warm” for too long.
