12 inches in diameter and 3 inches depth, this wok is such an ideal size to cook your Asian inspired dishes or just simply use it for a myriad of cooking methods. In the mood for braising a hunk of beef with Chinese five spices, a cinnamon stick, clove topped with garlic, ginger and green onions. Of course, the cooking wine and dark and light soy sauce. 5-Ply Construction for Optimal Heat Conductivity and Aesthetic Elegance

I can’t stop marveling at the fact this wok is made of 5-ply construction. In case you don’t know, the CEO, John Ulam is a metallurgist by trade. With more than 50 patents in his arsenals, this is just one of his more recent inventions. The genius of this construction is using the copper as the core in the bottom all the way to the sides of the wok. The copper was bond by aluminum with two layers of stainless steel for the interior and exterior.

As you might know, copper is one of the most heat conductive materials on the planet. By using copper at the core, it ensures the quick responsiveness to heat, uniform heat distribution and heat retention during cooking.

With 18/10 stainless steel on the inside, it fully accentuates the non-corrosive and non-reactive nature of the material to ensure the safety and hygiene of the food. When it’s used on the outside, you guess it, it presents a gleaming and shining elegance of the cookware. On top of that, there is a copper stripe encircled on the outside of the wok that gives it such an unexpected touch to elevate the already elegance to a new height.

Thoughtful Features

There are two handles: One long handle for you to hold when cooking; and a helper handle on the opposite side if you need to carry the wok to the dining table. Both are made of stainless steel riveted securely to the wok. These handles will stay cool while cooking. There is also a hole on the end of the long handle for those who’d like to hang the wok on a hook or a peg. Who wouldn’t with this showcase piece?

Pros5-ply construction with copper core to thermal conductivity. Stainless steel makes it durable for a lifetime or more. The 12 inch is a perfect size for 1 to 4 people. The handle and the helper handle stay cool while cooking. The pot can be heated up to 500 degrees F. The pan is multi-functional not only for stir-frying, but for sautéing, stewing, making a pot of marinara sauce. The sky is the limit and you can save money and space from buying more pots and pans.

ConsFood does stick to the bottom if you don’t cook it on high heat with enough cooking oil. So it may not be the best utensil to cook an omelet.
