Capacity: 14″ in Diameter & 5.3 ” in Depth

Measured 14 inches in diameter and 5.3 inches in depth, you can use this wok to cook up to 3 pounds of meats, seafood or veggies without any problem. The icing on the cake is the generous-sized steamer. One customer experimented steaming 4 ears of corns and it still has more room to spare.

The differentiating feature of this wok is the hard-anodized aluminum material. Hard anodizing is a process to create a layer of scratch and corrosion resistant coating on the aluminum. This process is done through immersing the metal, in this case, the aluminum into an acid liquid solution. By applying an electric current through the solution, the electron causes a thin layer oxidization to build up as a hardened surface.

Advantages of Hard Anodized Cookware

There are several advantages of hard-anodized cookware. It creates a hard coating which can be as hard as steel.

Having such a hard surface, it prevents the cooking surface from warping, scratching and reacting to high heat or highly acidic food.

Since the oxidation occurs on top of the aluminum, it won’t peel off as it would with other non-stick coating materials. More importantly, it’s safe and won’t cause harmful substance to leach into the food.

You could see that you’ll get the best of both worlds in an anodized wok, i.e., the high conductivity and even heat distribution of aluminum with the hard surface that will withstand the wear and tear.

You are also getting many of the benefits of a cast iron cookware without the excessive weight and extra care.

This wok works on all cook tops, including induction heating surface.

The steamer and the lid are all made of stainless steel which is very durable.

There is no information available on the specific temperatures. It’s safe to assume it works on low to high heat.

Easy to Use and to Clean

The shape of the wok is tapered from 14 inch opening to about 6 inches on the bottom. You can use a small burner of the same size for cooking.

Cleaning a hard-anodized wok is a whiz. A little bit dish soap with some warm water will do the trick. I would avoid washing it in the dishwasher even though the product description says so.

Pros and Cons

ProsHard-anodized surface is scratch and corrosion resistant. The non-stick surface doesn’t cause health concerns with peeling off of harmful chemical substance or decomposition. The wok is very “roomy” to cook as much as 3 pounds of food for a family of up to 5 people. It’s so easy to clean and care for this wok. The wok comes with a fabric bag to store the wok and the steamer without scratching.

ConsIt’s big and heavy. Finding space to store the wok and the steamer can be a challenge for someone who doesn’t have much space in a small kitchen. Of course, there is always the option of leaving it on the stove burner.
